About me

I know that calling myself a natural-born writer may sound banal, but it’s the most accurate description I can think of.

For as long as I can remember I’ve been in love with words. Throughout school I excelled at English (maths was a different story!) which led me to studying magazine journalism and feature writing at university.

Three years later, armed with a degree and a CV laden with work experience summaries, I began eagerly hunting for an entry level journalism job. Spoiler alert: I failed my mission. After a year stacking supermarket shelves I landed what I considered my first ‘proper’ job — that is an office job with an annual salary. Though it wasn’t the type of role I’d been hoping for, it was my first step towards becoming the well-rounded writer that I am today

I’ve since gained 10+ years of communications experience, predominantly in the public sector. During this time I’ve written: coverage-scoring press releases, compelling website copy, printed consumer publications, copy for posters & flyers, swift reactive statements and lots more.

I’ve also put my journalism degree to good use, and have written for publications like Stylist, Women’s Health, Huffington Post, Metro.co.uk, Glamour and Refinery29.

Today, my mission is to work with PR agencies and small businesses who need support crafting copy (which is just another word for writing) that connects with customers and clients alike.
